What is it like at BHBC?

Visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating, and we want you to be as comfortable as possible as you consider what the Lord is doing here at BHBC. To that end, we have put together some commonly asked questions in order to give you an idea of what to expect.

"WHERE DO YOU MEET?"

Our address: 580 Needy Rd, Martinsburg WV 25405

We are 1 mile off of highway 9, at the intersection of Needy Rd and Van Clevesville Rd, right on the hill here in the Baker Heights community. We are hard to miss as you drive by!

"WHEN DO YOU MEET?"

On Sundays we have two main gatherings:

Sunday Morning Bible Classes @ 10am (Youth, College and Career, and Adults)

Worship Service @ 11am (All ages, with nursery available)

Wednesdays include a spread of ministries as well:

CrossFusion Youth @ 6pm

TruthSeekers children's ministry @ 6pm

Adult's Bible Study @ 7pm

"WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SUNDAY LOOK LIKE?"

We believe every aspect of our gathering consists of worshipping the Lord. Our worship services include encouraging one another in fellowship, worshipping together in song, being edified by the reading of Scripture, and of course sitting under God-honoring preaching of the Word.

Our time of music features a mix of traditional and contemporary songs that exult God and reflect on the eternal truths in His Word. The passion of our heart is that the time singing together would honor God in every sense rather than exalt the worship team themselves.

After the time of music comes a time to sit under the preaching of God’s Word directly. We believe the Bible is God’s holy word and is without error and is all-sufficient for the edification of the Christian. We conclude each service with a brief opportunity to reflect and seek the Lord in prayer.

"WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?"

At BHBC we gather together to worship God and fellowship with one another in love and truth—we don’t care how you dress! If you are still curious, most of us dress in casual weekend attire. Dress in what is comfortable for you and you will fit in just fine.

"IS THERE ANYTHING FOR MY KIDS?"

Yes! The children’s ministry: TruthSeekers, is led by Sophia Lewis and has classes available for grades K-6. We also have nursery service available, and an active youth group—CrossFusion Youth—for teens in grades 7-12. Click here for more info!
